What Customers Say About Virgin SUPER SLICE by UTStarcom - Cellular phone - Virgin Mobile - CDMA2000 1X:

It is more like you are a tenant of the phone and Virgin is sticking you for more rent every time you turn around. The pictures the device takes are uberlow quality and the ringtones, games and graphics available from Virgin leave a whole lot to be desired.I don't recommend this phone unless you are living on a shoestring budget. If it had not been crippled, this phone could easily have been set up to sync contacts and transfer media. This phone is the bottom of the barrel. Virgin Mobile has crippled this phone so they can nickle and dime you to death on transferring photos and ringtones etc. It's almost like you didn't even buy the phone since you have to pay to manipulate the data on the device.

The VM service itself is great though. Also, the phone gets hot if you're on it for a long call (on hold or something). It's really thin and even has a camera (though it's not a very good one). This is a fantastic phone for just that: making calls and the occasional txt. Lately this hasn't been a problem. The only reason I'm switching phones now is that I want one with a keyboard that I can use internet and email on.

This one says you can use internet but I've never tried since the connection is so slow. I do need to note that it has a bit of a more limited signal than some previous VM phones I've owned. One other problem was that it had a problem connecting to the Virgin XL feature so that I could download ringtones and such when I first got it. If you want a basic phone this is pretty good. I have used Virgin Mobile for probably 5 years or so with a quick fling on my family's plan with sprint and after that I used a Net One phone for about 2 months (sucky service where I'm at). I don't talk on the phone a lot so I basically have a phone for emergencies and on the rare occasion that I do need to make a call (I've been using it more lately).

It's got a long battery life (I charge it once, maybe twice, a month depending on how much I use it). Of course the problem is I could probably have gotten a similarly great phone for much cheaper than the $50 I paid about 9 months ago.

Virgin service has served me well, $33 a month for everything i want/need. i'm sticking with my super slice as long as she will have me. had the red super slice through Virgin for almost two years now. hope it will last a couple of more years because despite loving the idea of an iPhone, who has the money to buy the phone AND pay for coverage every month.

I've owned portables since 1990's and had a NECP901 that was my fav now I have a new candy bar fave. anyhue: I am partial.with a slight addiction to anything cellular. I'm on my 4th phone now with them and they've really bent over backwards to help me with any of my accounts.I like the total control of the the accounts via the web I don't even have to call and have always been paperless. I know these things. I had no idea it has speaker phone too so plus there. I have the red one just ordered when they went up on line at the 49 price as well: I'm more than thrilled to find out all the features with this upgrade and my friends say my pix look great sent to them on other carriers no problems. I'm very happy w/ the price and knowing I have a 1 year free wnty replacement or if I lose it only 7.99 to replace it during that year. Just can't get over how thin this phone is.

When I called Virgin Mobile about it, I was bounced around for about a month, told they would refund and replace my phone and then told I wasn't getting anything except the exact same phone. I just hope it works better. VM wouldn't refund my money for the content because they said there was no proof it had been on my phone and I eventually had to start yelling after the 20th+ phone call to get anywhere. I had this problem then entire life of my phone but otherwise it worked well enough. All in all, the phone worked great when it worked, Virgin Mobile is terrible at support and service, but for the money I guess it isn't too bad.

However, as soon as I got it out of the packaging and turned it on, it froze and I had to restart. However, all of those lock up and freezes eventually caused my phone to crash and lose not only my stored date and information, but all of my paid for content like ringtones, games and wallpaper. The phone rep told me that the Super Slice is pretty well known for crashing and they haven't bothered fixing the problem. I recently sent my slice through the washer so I'm looking at replacing it with the Wildcard. The phone itself is thin, light and comfortable to use.

I bought it for mobile IM and email more than anything and it worked great. They comped a free phone(another slice) and I had less problems with it.
